About Colleen

My name is Colleen, and I am the owner and artisan of Home in History. 

1. I have been crafting for most of my life. Sewing for 30 years, knitting for 25, tatting for 15, spinning for 10, nalbinding for 8, cooking and gardening since I could walk.

2. I was born and raised in New England, but have been to 38 of the 50 states (hoping to do 39 and 40 later this year), 4 Canadian providence, and 3 European countries.

3. I make everything you find in the shop and am inspired by my heritage, my travels, history and day to day life.

4. I learned my skills from my mom, aunts, classes and self-taught. 

5. I recognize that the fashion industry has one of the largest waste problems and I strive to keep waste to a minimum by cutting to reduce waste and reusing remnants in other ways.
